With the 2015 injury riddled season in the rear view mirror, the Baltimore Ravens are finally back to full strength and looking forward to the season. The Ravens have a number of players returning who missed a significant portion of last season including quarterback Joe Flacco, wide receiver Steve Smith Sr, and running back Justin Forsett. To go along with free agent acquisitions Mike Wallace and Eric Weddle, the Ravens have reloaded for the 2016 campaign as they look to rebound after a disappointing season last year.
Baltimore got off on the right foot this Sunday with a 13-7 victory over fellow AFC opponent, the Buffalo Bills. The offense was lead by Joe Flacco who went 23/34 for 258 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions. Mike Wallace shined in his Ravens debut hauling in 3 receptions for 91 yards, including a 66 yard touchdown.
The big story of the game was Baltimore’s ability to shut down Buffalo’s high-octane offense. The defense only allowed Bills quarterback Tyrod Taylor to throw for 111 yards. Shareece Wright led the Ravens defense with 11 tackles including 3 tackles for a loss.
Sunday’s win was the exact start to the season that Ravens coach John Harbaugh was looking for. The Ravens next game is in Cleveland against the Browns on Sunday. Baltimore returns home to face the Raiders on October 2nd.
