National Aquarium – 501 E Pratt St
The National Aquarium is excited to open a new exhibit that is bound to leave patrons in awe. On August 8th, the aquarium will debut its new Blacktip Reef Exhibit! This exhibit is full of color, light, and movement; and is located in the heart of the aquarium. The exhibit is filled with coral, meant to replicate Indo-Pacific reefs, and is active with life that guests can view from many vantage points. Plus, the exhibit will feature a newly constructed floor-to-ceiling pop-out window that will allow guests to literally come face to face with the creatures of the sea. Among the animals in the exhibit is a 500 pound green sea turtle named Calypso, who was the first creature introduced to the new environment. The exhibit will be replacing Wings in the Water and includes 65 species of animal, 3,000 coral, and 260,000 gallons of water! There will be Blacktip Reef Sharks and Rays in the exhibit as well! Some features include daily interactive presentations, shark feedings, and seating in an underwater viewing area, among other things. The exhibit promises to be an exciting addition to the Baltimore landmark!
