Released December 10, Donald Glover changed the whole entire game with his sophomore release. Shying away from the traditional sense of album development, he relied solely on the internet to create a buzz and the eventual explosion of excitement for his album. “Because The Internet” has aspects of traditional hip-hop, but he branches out by including his skills as a writer to give each song it’s own personality. So, as a fan of the arts in general, I feel that Glover changed the way albums should be created and everyone, I mean EVERYONE should go out and listen to this fine piece of aural cinema.

How about London Grammar’s If You Wait? It’s a trio from London. The lead singer has an insanely soothing voice, perfect for winding down.

With the 50th Anniversary of the Beatles’ British Invasion being celebrated this week, my staff pick is a tribute to the fab four with a recent release from one of the greatest band of all time’s surviving members. Sir Paul McCartney’s NEW blends both his individual style with the iconic sound of the Beatles. When it comes to the Beatles, you simply can’t go wrong and NEW is a testament to the lasting talent of the Beatles post break-up.

This is an absolutely genius album by phenomenal artists. Joining classic, yet innovative, 80s guitar riffs, bass lines, synths and so much more The 1975 takes you on a journey through their youth and their lives growing up and becoming the musicians that they are today. Currently, my favorite song by them is “Robbers” musically the song is simple, but has so much emotion while telling the story relationship between a female and male bank robbers.

This is an electronic producer with a distinctly 1980s sound. If you like bands like The Cure, Joy Division, or even Animal Collective then this a guy for you, infusing his vocals with electronic beats and live instrumentation he creates a massive sound that gets you dancing like you’re in The Breakfast Club. With one percussive 80s dance-punk cut after the next Mas Ysa has revived a sound that has been absent from dance music for decades.
