On March 31, Erica Campbell, of the award-winning gospel duo Mary Mary, re-released her solo album. “Help 2.0” features a song that some love and some hate, “I Luh God.”
This song has garnered so much debate between older and younger Christians, as well as non-Christians. Just Google or YouTube the song and you will see folks VENTing on the content and character of the artist and people who bob their heads to the this tune.
There are those who say this song is a great evangelistic tool for reaching the younger generation. Others say this song is another example of the church’s decreasing standards … pointing to the church as being lukewarm for accepting songs that sound too much like the “world” and artists who “compromise the gospel.” Some even question what is “luh” and what “God” is being acknowledged
