Buenos Diaz– Buenos Diaz
Rate: 7.2/10
LIYL: Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Black Keys, and Jack White
This is a band I’ve never heard before, and I was not only surprised but impressed. The first song, Hem Haw, is a short intro that opens up the album and shows off its instrumentals. After hearing this intro you can know what to expect for the rest of the album.
This singers voice is very unique and changes to fit the sound of each song. In one instance, he can sound like the singer for the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and the next, the singer for the black keys. The guitar riffs are very simple but catchy.
What makes this album a great listen is the combination of sounds the band uses for each song. The distortion is a perfect alternative sound that reminds me of the Black Keys. “Move on” is my favorite track of the album. It has great riffs and solos with awesome drums and a good backing bass which rides underneath the lead guitar. The album never goes over the top and has some softer alternatives like “San Fransymphony”. Overall the guitar is very catchy and features great solos and riffs that any listener would like. This album is not bad at all and was a pleasant surprise to my ears.
