WLOY, the non-profit student radio station at Loyola University Maryland, provides students and off-campus listeners with music from diverse genres 24/7. The station is run by various station student board members and bolstered by additional volunteer disc-jockeys airing their personal shows. The station also airs live faculty-hosted shows, presents and sponsors live concerts featuring popular artists, and also provides music for numerous on and off-campus events.
As an established presence at Loyola as well as in the surrounding Baltimore area, WLOY is looking to use its influence to reach out and give back to the community. Currently, we host a community-based show of What Happens Next? featuring elementary school children reading their endings to short stories. In the past, we have auctioned a signed guitar to benefit Middle Grades Partnership, hosted the CHOICE Program for Baltimore high schoolers, and donated to The Book Thing as well as other charities. These programs help to provide local Baltimore children with educational experiences that they may not receive in the classroom. Your support WILL help us to continue to give back to Baltimore.
