Bringing Football Back To LA?

Sports Talk After an announcement on Thursday from the San Diego Chargers and Oakland Raiders, we learned that there are three NFL teams considering the move to Hollywood from their current cities.

These three teams are the St. Louis Rams (which we already knew about), the Oakland Raiders (which we assumed), and the San Diego Chargers.

The Rams began pursuing a plan to possibly move to LA a little over a month back, but the Raiders and Chargers just sprung this on the NFL world.

Chargers fans and the people of the great city of San Diego are shocked and slightly betrayed by this news, especially since San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer created a task force with the sole purpose of finding ways to keep the Chargers in San Diego.

Sports Saturdays: Snow Moves Bills-Jets To Detroit

sports saturdays Let it snow, let it snow, oh wait no! Make it stop! That’s what the people of Buffalo are singing right now after having upwards of 8 feet of snow dumped on them in recent days.

With not enough resources to have Ralph Wilson Stadium ready for go-time on Sunday at 1:00pm, the NFL has decided to move the AFC East game against the Jets away from Buffalo.

Players have even resorted to trekking to the stadium on foot for practice this week. Bills wide receiver Chris Hogan tweeted out Friday morning, “Still snowed in! Walking to the stadium.”

The game between the Jets and the Bills will be played at Ford Field in Detroit, where weather can not possibly be a factor, seeing as it is a totally enclosed stadium.

278717-330-0 soc_u_showalter11_288x162The Balitmore Orioles can say they are home to the 2014 MLB Executive of the Year, and the 2014 AL Manager of the Year.

Dan Duquette, who is the executive vice president of baseball operations for the Orioles, was given the award on Monday after his leadership in the front office helped the O’s to their best season in 17 years.

Duquette won the award back in 1992 as well, when he was the general manager for the Montreal Expos.

Big signings and roster manipulation carried out by Duquette were crucial to the O’s success this season. Not only did Duquette manage to sign big names like Nelson Cruz and Andrew Miller, he was also able to find players that were disregarded by other teams, players he knew had loads of potential.
