If you were raised on a healthy dosage of 60’s pop rock then you are luck. Even if you weren’t, yet you are looking for a night out on the town, then the Hippodrome Performing Arts Center is the place to be. The four-time Tony Award winning musical Jersey Boys has finally arrived in Baltimore, and will stay at the Hippodrome until Sunday, February 27th. The production has enjoyed critical acclaim since its debut in 2004, and has toured throughout the United States as well as England, Canada, and Australia. Baltimore is lucky enough to be the next stop on their tour; however, the boys will not be here for long so the time to act is now.
This season, the Everyman Theatre is celebrating its 20th year – and they’re doing it with productions of some phenomenal shows! Now playing at the Everyman Theatre is the Tony award-winning production, All My Sons, written by Arthur Miller and directed by Vincent Lancisi.
The play follows the story of Joe Keller as he attempts to achieve the American dream in a post-WWII era. During such an unsettling time, Joe’s family crumbles under the chaos that follows a shocking announcement: Chris, Joe’s older brother, plans on marrying his missing-in-action brother’s fiancee. At this, a mother must confront the denial of her missing son and a father must reconcile his choices.
High praise has been given for this production. The Baltimore Sun reviewed the play, saying that the production “reminds you why you love theater, reconfirms what an involving and haunting art form it is – and how a first-rate company can make it doubly so.”

In the play, an acting troop perform Hamlet as things backstage begin to mirror the actions of the play. If you aren’t up for the real version of Hamlet, or just want a short but hilarious version of the original, this mix of murder, infidelity, and betrayal is sure to be a great fix.

Baltimore Centerstage, the head of Maryland Theater, is now showing ReEntry, a powerful and heartwarming play involving the return of a Marine soldier to a life he left behind. Directed by KJ Sanchez, this acclaimed new play seeks to get inside the mind of a man who is trying to adjust going from battlefields to backyard barbecues. Sanchez took special attention to stories from real soldiers, and she used the material she gathered as a basis for her play.
Baltimore’s Centerstage prides itself in offering intelligent, bold interpretations of modern and contemporary plays, so ReEntry will definitely have the audience enraptured from the very beginning.

Host of Tosh 2.0, the popular comedian is embarking on a huge stand-up fall tour across the nation (aptly titled “Tosh-Tour-Twenty-Ten”), and he’s stopping right here in Baltimore.
Named one of the “10 Comics to Watch” in 2006, Tosh is a must-see act. He has performed at some of the biggest comedy festivals across the globe, always leaving the audience in tears from laughter.
