Night Visions: Imagine Dragons’ Big Debut

These Las Vegas rockers’ debut is high energy, with each track both as unique and catchy as the next. Its clean production and innovative percussion provide for an extraordinary desire to sing-a-long with these upbeat tracks. Each song has multiple explosive moments, which speaks to the recent shift towards dance-influenced music. But all the while, Imagine Dragons maintains their rocker image without getting lost in the allure of over-production or synthesizing.

There’s a few new, exciting additions to our Top 40 Albums this week! The Deftones’ Koi No Yokan has been making an impression on many listeners, and Mogwai’s album A Wrenched Virile Lore (put together by all-around music genius Tim Hecker) makes its debut in our top 10. Perhaps no jump is as significant as Andy Stott though, whose Luxury Problems earns a second spot place on the list this week.
