Opened last December 2021, Sodam Bistro shares authentic Korean cuisine along with various gelato and espresso and non-espresso drink options. Adjacent to the pharmacy, Newman Towers, and Royal Farms, this restaurant is perfect for those sunny days when you want to take a stroll around the trail next to Newman and around Roland. There are various vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options for all dishes. And with outdoor seating and generous portion sizes, Sodam is a great way to choose from a selection of delicious cuisine and spend quality time with others. It’s a growing spot for Loyola students to hang out and relax.
Be introduced to burgers and pizzas Korean style with the owner’s homemade sauces and slaws that will expand your taste palate! Even the chicken bites are coated in this addicting sauce that adds the perfect amount of flavor. The bibimbap (mixed veggie and rice with your choice of protein: duck, bulgogi beef, shrimp, chicken, spicy chicken, chickpea tofu) also can come in three different and delicious sauce (garlic, savory bean paste, vegan) combinations!
Myles from the Class of 2023 mentioned from his experience at Sodam, “The workers are very sweet and respectful, and they seem to aim for good hospitality and good food as their top priority, The dishes such as the Bibimbap (I got duck) and the chicken bites were also delectable and I actually felt healthy eating the food instead of the guilt I would usually experience if I went out to eat around Loyola.” As a regular at Sodam, he also mentions that Loyola students receive a 10% discount if they show their student ID!
