Festival Spotlight: Hot August Music Festival

Hot August Festival Since it’s inception in Brad Selko’s back yard the Hot August Blues Festival has grown to fill the hillside at Oregon Ridge every year, packing another side stage and a huge kids area. It’s also gone through a name change to the Hot August Music Festival. Selko has long tried to vary the genre of acts gracing the stage and this year is no exception with a great varied lineup including: Old Crow Medicine Show, Nickel Creek, Dr. Dog, Tab Benoit, Turkuaz, Sister Sparrow & The Dirty Birds, Cabinet, Houndmouth, Long John Hunter, ELM, Bosley, Jordan August Band, and The Solicitors.

Parking at Oregon Ridge is always a bit crowded for the festival, especially when everyone tries to leave through the single out door! This year they’ve added more remote parking options and 10 free buses going to/from Timonium Fairgrounds Light Rail Station every 30 minutes. First shuttle will leave Timonium Fairgrounds at 11am. Last shuttle from Fairgrounds to Hot August Music Festival leaves at 8pm. Last shuttle from Hot August Music Festival to Timonium Fairgrounds leaves at 11pm. Last southbound train to BWI leaves Timonium at 11:15. Last Southbound train to Cromwell leaves at 11:30pm. Please check MTA Light Rail Schedule to verify. This makes it a lot easier to avoid the chaos of parking this year, so plan accordingly!
