BALTIMORE, MD (February 8, 2011)-
WLOY, the non-profit, student-run radio station at Loyola University Maryland, will be hosting an event for aspiring songwriters Thursday, March 3rd on the Loyola University campus. Performing at this event will be a Baltimore based band, Fools and Horses. WLOY staff invites Loyola students and off-campus listeners to attend an intimate concert with the band, discuss song writing, the music industry, and even perform themselves. This is a unique opportunity to interact with a local band that has toured world wide. Guests are welcome to bring their instruments and songs to perform and discuss as part of this event. WLOY works to provide quality music 24/7, to showcase unique student and faculty-hosted shows, and to provide music for on-campus events.
Fools and Horses, voted the best band of Baltimore by the readers of the City Paper for three straight years, plays an ageless sound with youthful energy. This group features four young men whose music is often compared to Coldplay’s and Foo Fighters. They have toured The United States and Europe sharing stages with Bon Jovi, the Gin Blossoms, and Sister Hazel.The Band’s show at WLOY’s Rock For Life 2010 event in support of the American Cancer Society was a high light.With great attendance of their shows in past WLOY invites everyone to join us at 9:00 P.M. in Loyola’s College Center Reading Room on March 3rd.
WLOY is Loyola University Maryland’s campus radio station.The student-run radio station has been operating 365 days a year since March, 2003.. WLOY offers a variety of live shows of different genres. Shows are hosted by students and community members, weekend programs including What Happens Next? designed for Baltimore City school children. WLOY has received local and national awards for its programming and community outreach.
