Congratulations Maryland the next best local rapper has emerged after Wale(Pac too) and that is, Logic. Widely known for his nickname Young Sinatra and his numerous mixtapes, Logic has finally released his first studio album, Under Pressure.
Needless to say he has the rhyming delivery similar to Tech N9ne during some points and his lyrical quality is fantastic. Specifically, Under Pressure is primarily a solo album only including two guest verses from Big Sean and Childish Gambino, which are only available on the deluxe version. Regardless of the guest features, Logic did a tremendous job on this album on songs like Intro, Growing Pains III, Soul Food, and Nikki. Here is a hook from Soul Food displaying some good lyricism, “I swear this music in my genes like Denim Lyricism seeping, I’m like venom Yes, I know the flow hotter than Lucifer Even though heaven sent him”. Viewing the production quality of this album it is very efficient, however Logic’s speedy flow and rhyme schemes sometimes drowned out the beat making, forcing you to pay attention to his words. That being said, this album made me very excited for his future and the increasing probabilities of more guest appearances on his next piece of work. If you are living in the DMV area make sure to attend a show by Logic because he will most definitely put on a fantastic show for his local fans.
