Men’s Soccer Season Ends In Double OT

loyola soccer Loyola’s 2014 men’s soccer season ended with a heartbreaker. The Hounds lost 1-0 to Patriot League opponent Lafayette on a penalty kick in the 102nd minute.

The team finishes their 2014 campaign with an overall record of 5-8-4, and a conference record of 2-5-2.

The senior class for the Hounds fittingly finished by leaving it all out on the field. Joseph Cahalan almost put the Hounds up in regulation time, but his shot went off the crossbar, and Connor Thompson almost won it for the Hounds in the first OT period, rifling a shot towards the right side of the net, only to be barely denied by Lafayette goalkeeper Alexander Leavy.

This senior class, consisting of Joseph Cahalan, Connor Thompson, Andrew Waddington, and Joey Wilkins, conclude their careers in green and grey with a combined 21 goals, 14 assists, 56 points, and a 2012 MAAC regular season championship.

Congratulations to the Hounds and the seniors on a good 2014 regular season!
