Tourism Tuesday: Maryland Science Center
When touring Baltimore, the top recommendation for a place to visit is the Inner Harbor, specifically the Aquarium. Although there are numerous other interesting parts of Baltimore, the Inner Harbor does boast a few gems.
The Maryland Science Center is one fantastic Harbor offering. Closer to the Fed Hill side of the Harbor, the museum is a staple of the Baltimore museum circuit. It boasts a planetarium, Imax theatre, live demos and a whole bunch of entertaining exhibits. In addition to gaining unique science knowledge from exhibits, museum visitors can try riding a Segway or learn about the stars to impress a hot date with constellation knowledge.

As the regular season to the NHL is winding down, teams are seeking for wins to leave their last marks before the playoffs begin. Sixteen teams will be invited for the chase of the ultimate goal; the Stanley Cup. There will be eight teams from the Western Conference and eight teams from the Eastern Conference. The NHL playoffs are one of the most exciting times of the hockey season. The energy is raised across the board from every team that has been lucky enough to make the playoffs. Just because we’re in college does not mean that we’re too old for the circus. The Greatest Show on Earth, Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey is coming to Baltimore, but they won’t be here for long, so make sure you act quick. From March 30th until April 10th the world-famous circus will be hitting the 1st Mariner Arena, debuting their new tour entitled “Barnum’s FUNundrum!” The show promises exciting acts, such as a daring motorcycle troupe, high-wire walkers, and contortionists of incredible strength. Not to mention the ferocious, yet friendly tigers and majestic elephants galore. Unleash your inner child and come see just how crazy the circus really is these days.
As listeners, we desire familiarity– something to grasp on to, to harken back to. Looking back on the past can help us understand the present, but this desire gets us in trouble sometimes. We can get too caught up in striving to label that modern day My Bloody Valentine or Slowdive that we forget to appreciate the distinctness of the tongue-twister-tagged Asobi Seksu.
