Sweetlife Festival Day 2

Sweetlife Festival Day 2

Sweetlife 2015 sign We sent Phil and Brandon to Sweetlife Festival at Merriweather Post Pavilion to shoot some photos and check out some bands. It’s fair to say they enjoyed the shows, meeting and interviewing some great acts and enjoying a very cool festival. From a wide variety of food vendors to green power companies, the whole vibe was green, friendly and fun. Brandon covered Day 1, so Phil does Day 2:

Charlie XCX Sweetlife 2015 Charli XCX
Charli XCX strutted out onto the main stage to her all girl band all wearing zebra-print outfits. She and her band resembled a group of strong empowered amazon goddesses and they were rocking it. Her full on girl-power set kept the crowd up and alive and wanting more. She performed songs such Famous, Breaking Up, and Break the Rules all from her 2014 album Sucker. She then treated everyone to a crowd favorite song she has been featured in, Fancy by Iggy Azalea.

Phantogram Sweetlife 2015 Phantogram
Phantogram was both a trip and an experience. At first I did not know about the band Phantogram, but after hearing them live, I can now say that I am a fan. The mixture of live instruments, synths, heavy bass, and the captivating vocals of Sarah Barthel all worked together in perfect harmony. It felt like Phantogram’s set was a through time and space leaving listeners with an experience that won’t be forgotten. Song from their set included, Fall In Love, Nothing But Trouble, and one of my favorites from their set Black Out Days.

Vic Mensa Sweetlife 2015 Vic Mensa
Chicago Rapper Vic Mensa put on a show at the Treehouse Stage on Day 2 of the Sweet Life escapades. Vic came out full of energy and swag with mic in one hand and a bottle of Rose in the other. He was wildin’ out on stage and so was every one of his loyal fans and those who weren’t familiar of Vic definitely knew who he was after his set. He did everything from crowd surfing, climbing up the stage scaffolding, and raining Rose showers out into the crowd. Believe me, everyone in the front row got caught in the splash zone.

The Weeknd Sweetlife 2015 The Weeknd
The Weeknd made everyone feel ways they didn’t know was possible. His set was by far one of the rowdiest when I was standing in the pit. Being that he played at the Treehouse stage, which was an open stage, that amount of people was enormous. The Weeknd performed “The Hills”, Beyonce’s “Drunk in Love”, and his biggest hit from the “50 Shades of Grey” album “Earned It”.
