Vote WLOY & Christmas Parade 10Best!!!

Isn’t this amazing?! USA Today is trying to pick the 10 Best Holiday Parades in the country and one of the initial 20 they picked was the Mayor’s Annual Christmas Parade in Hampden!! It’s been going for 44 years (with only 1 shut down for snow) and WLOY has been a part of the parade for the last 8 years. We build a float on and around the station van and send our crew of WLOY elves out with bags of candy canes, shirts, and toys for kids along the route. With over 20,000 people on the street sides it’s no wonder we gave out over 3500 candy canes last year!!! When we found out that the parade was in the top 20 for this competition, we were excited to support it and tell you to vote. When we saw the featured picture seen by millions on the USA Today 10Best website was of THE WLOY FLOAT well… we kinda lost our minds. That’s Hillary Bowman ’14 up there throwing stuffed plush snowballs to the crowd on top of the WLOY van and inside the Merry Christmas Hon float. WOW!
