While their album came out earlier this year, The Neighbourbood’s I Love You is just now making its way into my Top 25 Most Played iTunes playlist. Their motley crew of electric, hip-hop and indie rock sound is something that is hard not to like. All the tracks on I Love You flow into each other so smoothly, and while this isn’t necessarily the album that makes you want to get up and dance, it is definitely worth a listen to, if you haven’t already.

With his debut Album “It Goes Like This” Rhett is stealing hearts of country music fans one lyric at a time. Born in Georgia, his soulful sound and upbeat lyrics grasp listeners attention and provide a new unique sound to the country music world. He masterfully blends country sounds with rock undertones to create not only a catchy album musically, but to reveal his emotional side through his music as well. Although this is his debut album, he has co written with super stars such as Jason Aldean and Florida Georgia Line, Thomas Rhett is a new comer on the scene to watch out for in the industry.
Kathleen McKeveny – Bad//Dreems – Badlands

Badlands is Bad Dreems first official EP, and it shows more promise than that kid who won the Scripps Spelling Bee on a German-derived Yiddish word. “Chills” is a playfully angsty anthem of sorts. In short, if you’re into garage-rock or remarkably attractive Australian men, this may just be your thing. I certainly dig.
Billy Dries – Jamie xx – Jamie xx Edits

Jamie xx is one of the most desirable producers on the music scene after his work in the past couple of years. He plays and produces for The xx, he’s a featured producer on Drake’s past two albums, he remixed an album in collaboration with Gil-Scott Heron and he’s still a few years away from his 25th birthday. His post-dubstep, minimalist production style is completely unique, and on this short EP he takes “Sunset” a track of The xx’s Coexist and completely re imagines it, taking a beautiful indie rock cut and putting it to a trancy dance beat he creates something that could get any dance hall moving. Check out this release, but don’t stop there! He’s got plenty more edits and remixes to check out…hint hint he likes soundcloud.

Kait Connaughton- John Mayer – Paradise Valley

Making a comeback after his questionable and rather racy interviews with Rolling Stone and Playboy of 2010, John Mayer is a changed man–both musically and personally–with his most recent release of Paradise Valley in August 2013 and prior May 2012 release of Born and Raised. Moving away from the pop rock genre and emerging on the country/folk/americana scene in his two latest releases, Paradise Valley boasts collaborations with noteworthy artists Frank Ocean and Katy Perry, a blues cover of the late J.J. Cale’s “Call Me The Breeze,” the free form jam-band sound of the Grateful Dead on the album’s first track, “Wildfire,” and most notably, honest lyrics and melodic guitar riffs. Not a Mayer fan before? Give him another chance and take a listen to Paradise Valley (or better yet, see him in Baltimore on December 14th!).
